HAIL AND WELL MET

Thanks for taking the time to visit my portfolio site. You probably just finished watching the video, and most likely reviewed my resume and cover letter. Your time is important, so this dedicated page is going straight to the point on why I am really interested in working for Blizzard and what I offer as a graphic designer.

First, a little bit about me: I am a Rocky Mountain native, and l love, drawing, anime, hiking, camping, photography, and a good cup of coffee. Some of my favorite video game franchises include the The Legend of Zelda series, Minecraft, Pokémon, Mirror’s Edge, and Golden Sun. Of course I love many of Blizzard’s games such as World of Warcraft, StarCraft II, Hearthstone, and of course Overwatch.

WHY CHOOSE ME?

The role for Graphic Designer with the Overwatch team is asking for someone who not only has in-depth working experience, but also a great amount of experience with Overwatch. You will find that I bring over three years of experience to full both of these goals for this exciting opportunity and that I have been an active member of our community since launch of Overwatch. My experience includes working for a chain of premier entertainment centers called The Summit, and earning a Bachelor’s degree with the Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design with a 4.0 GPA. Here are some of my best pieces that show my skills in this role, but be sure to check out my full Portfolio and Art Blog if you have time.

SUPPORTING THE COMMUNITY

The open position for the graphic designer for the Overwatch Team asks for someone with the “understanding and familiarity with Overwatch lore, game history and design themes” and who has “played through all game modes of Overwatch with a deep understanding of game mechanics.” Who else better than someone who has been a four-year Forum MVP on the official Blizzard forums. Not only have I been playing this game since its launch, but I have proactively been involved with the community to help make Overwatch the best game it can be for the players who love to play it.

I am very experienced with Overwatch’s Workshop scripting tools for custom games and replay and spectator tools. Both are essential to delivering creative content that is unique to Overwatch. Combined with my graphic and motion design skills, I know I uniquely fulfill the roles this position has to offer, and I will bring a level of enthusiasm to support this growing franchise.

Here are a few motion design pieces that demonstrate using my skills as a graphic designer to support the Overwatch community.

GROWING FRIENDSHIPS...

I am very proud to build great relationships with current and former Blizzard team members. I encourage you to reach out to them as they will be happy to tell you what I bring to the Blizzard Community.

Thanks for taking the time to consider me for what is sure to be an exciting opportunity not only myself, but for the Overwatch franchise as a whole. I know that Blizzard continues to be the industry standard for great games built by incredible folks who bring their own passions to the table. I know that I will be able to contribute to that goal with own passion and experience.
